Brooklyn Park homicide victim identified The Hennepin County Medical Examiner says Ashantai Finch, 32, was shot and killed late Tuesday night in what police are calling a domestic incident. It happened in a home in the 8100 block of Hampshire Court North. Property records show the home belongs to Silas and Tanesha Clayton. A neighbor says family members had been staying with them occasionally. When police responded Tuesday night, they found Finch dead and arrested a man who was also at the house. The suspect's identity has not been released yet. Detectives and the Hennepin County crime lab spent Wednesday morning combing the area for clues. "They won't tell us a lot. What they would say is that they were looking for a pistol," says Brian Djerf, a neighbor. "There were seven or eight squad cars so they were looking for some kind of, what they said, a firearm." The Medical Examiner did reveal that Finch died of a gun shot. A tow truck also hauled away two cars that had been parked in front of the house for the last few days. Police say that is likely also part of the investigation that is expected to last several days. Renee Banot
